Background

For over a century, Grapevine-Colleyville ISD has been a beacon of educational excellence in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, serving nearly 14,000 K-12 students across 21 schools. With a dedicated team of more than 1,800 faculty and staff, the district is committed to a rigorous curriculum and innovative teaching methods. Michael Jagoditsh, Director of Data Systems, leads the charge in ensuring data accuracy for state reporting, drawing on his extensive experience from Skyward.

Challenge

Michael and his team faced the daunting task of validating system data across multiple departments, including RTI and 504. Coordinating consistent data across these varied departments was challenging.

Key Issues:

  • Discipline Reporting: Assistant Principals were overwhelmed, resulting in high error rates and inefficiencies.
  • Food Service Tracking: Managing thousands of lunch account sign-ups was labor-intensive and error-prone.

Solution

The introduction of Level Data Validation brought a significant shift in how data was managed. Michael recognized the immediate benefits of real-time error detection and cleaner, more reliable data. He recalls, “I think that was the light bulb moment. Now we can get this data corrected as we work through it. That really piqued my interest.”
